Keyboard shortcuts

The complete shortcut table. Shortcuts are listed macOS-first (⌘T / Ctrl+T); other pages name only the one or two shortcuts relevant to their task and link here.

Global

Shortcut	Action
⌘, / Ctrl+,	Open Settings.
⌘T / Ctrl+T	New terminal tab in the current workspace (does nothing outside a workspace).
⌘⇧N / Ctrl+Shift+N	Open the New branch… dialog (create a worktree on a new branch).

Inbox

Active while the Inbox list has focus — see Inbox overview.

Shortcut	Action
J	Next item.
K	Previous item.
Enter	Primary action for the selected item.
E	Dismiss.
S	Snooze for 1 hour.
P	Pin / unpin.
→	Expand a grouped row.
←	Collapse it.

Git — Changes tab

Shortcut	Action
Space	Toggle stage/unstage on every selected row.
⌘A / Ctrl+A	Select all files.

Git — History tab

Active while the commit list has focus.

Shortcut	Action
⌘C / Ctrl+C	Copy the selected commit’s SHA.
⌘V / Ctrl+V	Cherry-pick the SHA on the clipboard into this worktree (only fires when the clipboard looks like a SHA — 7–40 hex characters).

Commit graph

Shortcut	Action
↓ / ↑	Move one row.
PgDn / PgUp	Move ten rows.
Home	Jump to the first row.

Conflict resolver

Shortcut	Action
F8	Next conflict hunk.
⇧F8 / Shift+F8	Previous conflict hunk.

Settings window

Shortcut	Action
Escape	Close without saving.

Notes

• Shortcuts are fixed — there is no customization.
• Inside a workspace terminal, keystrokes belong to the shell or agent running there (including Tab), not to Birch.
• During a Health break, Birch’s window shortcuts are suspended; the OS-level ⌘Q / Alt+F4 still quit the app.
